JOY Sculptural Exhibit

Sculpture Tucson is currently accepting applications to exhibit 15 large-scale sculptures that are about, inspired by, provoke, awaken, or instill JOY.  All works must be original 3-dimensional sculptures and will be juried. Selected sculptures will be on exhibit in the Sculpture Tucson Sculpture Park, 3420 East River Road from November 1, 2022 – May 1, 2023. Sculptures will be available for sale with 30% commission to Sculpture Tucson and must remain on-site during the entirety of the exhibit. 

 

THE JUROR
The juror for our 2022-2023 JOY show is Kim Boganey, Director of Public Art for Scottsdale Arts, which manages the City of Scottsdale’s public art program as well as the nationally recognized annual event, Canal Convergence. Kim Boganey served on the panel of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council’s symposium, “Elevating the Arts” and recently served as a member of the 2021 International CODA Awards Jury. Kim also curated the retrospective exhibition, “Beverly McIver: Full Circle,” currently on view at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

 

 

Selected entries will receive a $1000 honorarium and up to $500 toward the cost of shipping.

REQUIREMENTS TO SUBMIT
• Sculpture Only

The only art form accepted for the JOY exhibit is sculpture (3-dimensional artwork) deemed appropriate by SculptureTucson.
• Artists must submit their own work.
• There is no fee to apply.
• Artists are responsible for transport of all sculpture to the site.

 

ELIGIBILITY
Applications are open internationally to all sculptors. Local and regional sculptors are particularly encouraged to apply. Travel, transportation, and accommodations are the responsibility of the artist.

SUBMISSION
Artists are required to submit a completed application online no later than 11:59 PM PST, July 16, 2022.
To apply you must include the following:
1. Completed Online Application Form
2. Up to 3 Images
3. Image List including dimensions and materials used
4. Artist Statement: No more than 3 sentences
5. Artist Resume

 

SELECTION
All applications will be reviewed and juried by Sculpture Tucson’s juror. 
All applicants will be notified of the Juror’s decision the week of August 16, 2022.

 

FEES
Sales of any JOY EXHIBIT will be processed by SculptureTucson who will retain 30% commission. Sales of any JOY EXHIBIT made within 90 days after the close of the show will also be processed by SculptureTucson who will retain 15% commission. 

 

SculptureTucson has the right to accept or reject any/all applicants. Submission of an application does NOT guarantee or constitute acceptance to participate in the JOY EXHIBIT.
